The aim of this publication is to present to engineers, research workers, students, documentation specialists and interpreters an illustrated, technical dictionary specially devoted to problems of metalforming, a field of technology which has been, till now, treated only marginally in technical dictionaries, although a continuously increasing interest in the metalforming in modern industry is to be observed. About 5500 terms and words hve been selected and classified for the five main fields of the metalforming: - rolling, connected with further metal processing, with special attention paid to continuous processes, e.g. continuous galvanizing coil coating, continuous annealing - forging, connected with the further processing of forgings, e.g. shot blasting, - drawing of wire, bars, tubes and sections - sheetmetal forming, connected with almost all forming operations, e.g. deep drawing, bending, slitting, - extrusion. With illustrated plants, machines and facilities, forming tools, examples of technological processes, and also with a background of modern metallurgical processes, like steelmaking processes (continuous casting) and metal finishing.
